Takeaways:
- The first thing that Esther believes she got right when starting was “going for it”. She says that they started the company without clients or knowing who their ideal customers are. She went with her gut and made the best decision of her life.
- Another thing that Esther got right on her flight was having her husband by her side. Having her husband by her side as a partner, he complimented her strength and helped her with any challenges along the way. Having a trusted partner helps brush out any tangles in the business.
- When starting her company, Esther kept her costs low. By keeping her costs low, her company didn’t need to spend any money that they didn’t have which made it easier to advance her business.
- Esther started out by helping her dad’s real estate company in a shared building. She believes that this helped her by having everyday discussions about where it was going, what they were doing, and what was their strategy. Having that support and dialogue was the push she needed to start her company.
- A challenge that Esther had to face within her company was staffing. She had to let go of some team members who were not a good fit for their business, and even though it was hard to hire teammates at the time, now her company is better than ever. Sometimes you have to take those risks in order to succeed.
- Being surrounded by her family who immigrated from the Soviet Union, and seeing how hard they worked to provide Esther and her family with a better life, inspired Esther to work hard and become successful.
Quote of the Show:
